"The level of instruction for Southern Maryland Crossfit is exceptional. The passion and dedication demonstrated by our coaches, through rehearsal and practice has allowed me to reach a level of fitness that I felt was unattainable before joining the class. My confidence, determination, and stamina have all increased thanks to the professional and encouraging coaching I have received. The Southern Maryland Crossfit environment has allowed me to overcome negative behaviors by encouraging, coaching and mentoring me to reach higher levels of dedication toward mastering the skills necessary to reach my personal goals among the Crossfit skills and WOD’s. The coaching regarding nutrition is informative and offers attainable meal alternatives to reach individual goals and desires while reducing other health related risk.
Generally, one of the last things I do before bed or one of the first things I do in the morning is look at the WOD for our next class. My day is planned around arriving to the gym to prepare for our work out. Had I not become a member of Southern Maryland Crossfit, I may have stopped coming to the gym on a regular basis. However, I feel that our coaches care about our successes and are willing to help us through our failures, to reach the highest levels of fitness possible based on our particular capabilities."

"To say that CrossFit has changed my life is true. This year's (2010) Snowpocalypse is the best example I can give. Prior to this winter, I would never go shovel my own driveway. My back, knees , and shoulders couldn't take the effort and strain. But this year, not only was I able to shovel the driveway, I was able to shovel most of it by myself. Why? Because I learned how to pick up heavy things and I have strengthened my body. But more than that, I ahve strengthened my spirit and my resolve. I don't ever think that I cannot do something anymore, I know I can do it!"

"CrossFit is the single best fitness/weightlifting practice I have ever been a part of. It has helped me become an all around better athlete and stronger than I have ever been."

"Just wanted to share with you a few milestones this week:
-first successful muscle up (actually combo'd two together)
-PR'd "Annie" last night at the house by over a minute
-PR'd shoulder press at 140# (up 5#, small amount but still a PR!!!)
-5 unbroken full Hand Stand Push Ups
When I started crossfit, 3 of my first goals I set were, learn to do consistent DU's (string together 10-20 unbroken), be able to do a legit handstand push up, and be able to do a legit muscle up... Check, check, and check! Pretty busy week! Thanks for the coaching!
now time to revise my goals!"
